WEB PUBLISHING
Substance, structure, style
That, in a nutshell, defines how we approach the creation of a website.
With the tools available to web designers today, it is easy to get carried away and pack a site with all the bells and whistles possible. The question is, should you?
We believe it is critically important to first define what a site aims to achieve, then plan the content and site architecture, and only then look at design and coding methods.
A completely Flash-driven site, for example, may make sense for a visual effects studio, but be the absolute wrong choice for an online store where page load speeds are important.
Likewise, an HTML-driven solution may suffice for a small personal site, but a constantly-updated online magazine or blog would be better off using a content management system.
Adding interactivity, animation and other 'wow' elements may win web design awards, but if it isn't functionally efficient for your target market, we believe a website isn't fully achieving its aims. Take a look at the list of the world's most popular websites, with Google at the top; you'll be hard-pressed to find a single one that's totally Flash-driven. Proof, if any were required, that page load speeds and ease of use are vital components of a successful site.
Our approach is to plan and design a site that is right for your needs; one that works for you today and is flexible enough to expand to meet your needs in the future.
